There are probably 200 Formosan Black Bears surviving today. According to the international standard, it needs at least 2,000 mature individuals for a species to survive. Apparently, Formosan Black Bears are far less than the required safety quantity for survival and have become critically endangered. For the public to know the threat to the survival of Formosan Black Bears and to feel their scarcity and realize the habitat problem of Formosan Black Bears that live alone after maturity, we thus design the LiKEE Find Formosan Black Bear event to support the conservation of Formosan Black Bears.
